Kay Hutton Gala
The Jordan’s sponsored Biggleswade Swimming Club entered a team of mainly novice swimmers in the Kay Hutton Trophy Gala at Dunstable on Saturday 1st October 2005 with good results. The team of 10 girls and 11 boys, swam in a total of 51 events, with many of them swimming in age groups two or more years older! Notable first places were gained by Harry Storton (50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle), Dominic Hill (25m backstroke and 25m breaststroke), Jessica Bilcock (25m freestyle and 25m butterfly), Peter Fletcher (25m freestyle), Charlotte Warren (25m breaststroke), Ethan Farrell (25m butterfly) and Josh Farrell (50m butterfly). There was a good splash of personal best times from the exhausted, but happy swimmers and the great team spirit continued on the team bus all the way back to Saxon Pool. Many thanks to Kim Ulmer (coach), Cheryl Farrell (team manager), Steve Farrell (timekeeper), Andrew Warren (timekeeper) and Pat Dowsett (judge) who gave up their time for the swimmers and provided encouragement and support throughout the gala. Well done to all.
